You will be met on arrival at Casablanca airport and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, and dependant on your time of arrival, you have the rest of the day free in this fascinating city.
Meet your driver for a full day in Rabat the Imperial capital, where you will learn Rabat’s history and enjoy its beautiful domes, minarets, wide avenues and green spaces. Your guide will escort you on a walk around the picturesque Almohad northern walls of the Oudaïa Kasbah. The kasbah was built by the reign of the Almohads from 1121-1269 to protect the city and is enclosed by ramparts dating from the Almohad period. Visit Bab Oudaïa, a monumental gate and example of Almohad military architecture. See the Musee de Oudaïa, Moulay Ismaïl’s palace exhibiting collections of Moroccan folk art. Before moving on to city medina, relax in the Moorish style Andalusian garden. In the medina, your guide will take you through the labyrinth of souks and artisan shops. Visit Place Souk el- Ghezel (the Wool Market Square) where Christian prisoners were once sold as slaves. On Thursdays there is a carpet auction. Take note of the ornamental motifs and moldings arranged on the doors of the residential area. Walk the famous and lively Rue des Consuls where foreign consuls were once obliged to live. Browse shops selling clothes, shoes, food and other crafts. South of the Rue Souk visit the Mellah, the Jewish quarter. Next, continue to the Hassan tower, which stands on the hill overlooking the Wadi Bou Regreg. It is a gigantic mosque, emblematic of Rabat and famous for its unfinished minaret where storks nest. Also on the list is Ville Nouvelle. On the way to Marrakech you will experience the Mohammad VI Bridge (The Largest Bridge in Africa).
Leaving Rabat to Meknes the old capital of the Sultan Moulay Idriss - his stables there once housed 12,000 horses - stopping at the famous Bab Mansour before continuing to the Roman city of Volubilis renowned for its remarkably preserved mosaics. The evening finds us in our Fez hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
A full day to explore this magnificent city, one of the best living examples of a medieval Arab city and the religious capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. You take in the Karaouine mosque and Medersas whilst also experiencing the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the labyrinth of souks and tanneries. The tour includes photo stops at the imposing gate of Bab Boujloud, the ancient ramparts, the splendid fountain at Place Nejjarine and the beautiful front entrance to the Royal Palace. You return to your hotel for overnight stay at the end of the afternoon.
After breakfast, begin the sightseeing of Casablanca, the business capital of Morocco. Visit Hassan II Mosque from inside, Mohamed V square, the United Nations Place, The Central Market, the Habous District and the residential area of Anfa before strolling along the Ain Diab Cornish dotted with swimming pools and restaurants. Lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon at leisure and personal exploration. Dinner and overnight in Casablanca.
